Degrees
The Oakland City University School of Business offers both
associate and baccalaureate degree programs. The Associate of Science
Degree is a 64-hour program. The AS is offered in both Accounting and
Business Administration. The Bachelor of Science Degree is a 128-hour
program. The BS in Business Administration is offered with concentrations
in Accounting, Criminal Justice Administration, Human Resource Management,
Management, Marketing, Sports Administration, and International Studies.
The BS in Business Education and Career Technical Education is offered
in cooperation with the School of Education. Minors are also offered
in Accounting and Business.
Students
pursuing degrees in the School of Business gain valuable knowledge and
practical skills that help equip them for a variety of career fields
and endeavors. Graduates of the School of Business are well prepared
for such careers as tax accountants, bankers, small business managers,
office managers, retail managers, teachers, networking administrators,
marketing researchers, professional consultants, correctional facility
administrators, human resource managers, hospitality and tourism managers,
administrative assistants, and athletic administrators, just to name
a few. Many graduates of the School of Business even continue their
education after graduation by attending graduate school.
Each
student who is enrolled in the BS in Business Administration program
will complete a professional internship toward the end of his/her academic
program at Oakland City University. Internships are available. Students
work with School of Business personnel to locate suitable internship
experiences. This valuable experience is a way to apply the knowledge
and skills learned in the classroom with real-world applications in
