

Eligibility to Participate
Student Support Services is dedicated to the retention and graduation of all students through academic excellence, technical preparation, and the enhancement of each person’s intellectual and social development. (Oakland City University, Student Support Services Mission Statement)
To qualify for the Student Support Services program, an applicant must:
- Be a United States citizen or a permanent resident.
- Possess an academic need.
- Fulfill one or more of the following criteria:
Be a first generation college student (neither parent has a four-year
degree).
Meet income guidelines that are established by the U.S. Department of Education.
Have a documented physical or learning disability.
Currently, the Student Support Services project at OCU offers assistance to 225 qualifying participants. Once students are accepted to OCU, a request is made for the completion of eligibility documentation. Students who are selected as participants are then provided with the essential services necessary to complete a successful college experience.
