Tutoring Program
The goal of the Student Support Services Tutoring Program is to develop students’ skills which will aid them in becoming self-confident and independent learners. To help insure that this goal is realized, the basic policies and expectations are clearly outlined. They are intended to give direction and organization to the tutoring staff as well as make our activities more professional. It is understood that all Student Support Services staff will work to develop and maintain a high level of credibility and respectability throughout the university community. Student Support Services tutors play a key role in the entire process, and their competence and integrity are essential to the success of the program.

To receive tutoring, Student Support Services participants simply complete a tutor request form and the Tutor Coordinator will find a tutor as soon as possible. To become a tutor, a student completes an application, and the Tutor Coordinator will match the tutor with a student who needs help in the area/s in which the tutor is strongest.

Book Lending Program
The Student Support Services Book Lending Program allows participants to borrow available textbooks for each semester. Once students’ class schedules are received, the Tutor Coordinator will distribute textbooks on a first come-first serve basis. This is a great money saving service for participants.

Laptop and Projector Lending Program
A lending program that is quite popular in Student Support Services is the Laptop and Projector Lending Program. Participants are allowed to check out laptops and projectors for their presentations and to complete homework. Equipment may be checked out in the SSS computer lab.
