Admissions Requirements for Transfer Students
To be admitted "unconditionally"
as a transfer student the student must complete all of the requirements
for either the degree or non-degree students.
Students in good standing from accredited
institutions are welcomed as transfer students. Transfer students from
junior colleges or community colleges may have up to one-half of the requirements
for a baccalaureate degree accepted, except where an associate degree
has been completed, in which case all work required for the degree will
be accepted if it applies to the program of study at Oakland City University.
Students transferring to Oakland City University
with a minimum overall cumulative average of 2.0 (on a scale of 4.0) may
transfer all college level work with at least a "C" grade and
may transfer a maximum of six semester hours of passing but below "C"
work. Students with transfer credit from more than one university must
have a 2.0 average from each university where passing credit but below
"C" average work is transferred. at no time will the maximum
amount of passing credit below "C" be more than six semester
hours even if it is from one university or from multi-universities. Further,
a maximum of two-thirds of the credit-hour requirement for a major or
minor will be accepted by transfer. Students transferring to Oakland City
University with lower than 2.0 average will have accepted only those credits
in which a "C: or better was earned. The Office of Academic Affairs
is responsible for equating quarter hours to semester hours used at the
UNiversity.
Transfers from accredited junior colleges
may have up to one half of the requirements for a baccalaureate degree
accepted (or the equivalent of 64 hours), except where an associate degree
has been completed, in which case all the work required for the degree
will be accepted if it fits a planned program at the University.
