Scholarships and Grants

To be eligible for the OCU 21st Century Scholarship, students must be enrolled in the Indiana 21st Century Scholar program and have completed all state requirements.  Eligible students may receive up to full tuition to attend Oakland City University. 

The alumni scholarship recognizes students who have family members that have previously attended Oakland City University. To apply for the Oakland City University Alumni Scholarship please apply online. The deadline for the Alumni Scholarship is March 10th.

Oakland City University is a NAIA school. The university currently offers thirteen (13) intercollegiate sports for which athletics aid is available. Athletic aid is offered to those student athletes selected by the respective coach as eligible for collegiate participation. Students who wish to apply for athletic scholarship should contact the appropriate athletic coach or contact the Office of Admissions.

Founded by General Baptists in 1885, Oakland City University continues to support the education of today’s General Baptist youth. The General Baptist Scholarship is available to freshman or transfer students who are enrolled in main campus courses, full time. To be eligible, the student or the student’s parents or the spouse of the student must be a member of a General Baptist church. This scholarship (up to $1000) is renewable as long as the student remains academically eligible.

The Good Neighbor Scholarship allows for a major savings on tuition and is available to any first time OCU student living within 60 miles of campus who plans to commute.

All students meeting the entrance eligibility requirements set forth by the University qualify for merit based aid. These awards are based on a combination of your high school GPA and standardized test scores. GPA is based on the student’s final high school transcript on a 4.0 scale. All merit based scholarships are renewable for 120 credit hours, provided that the student maintains the required 2.5 cumulative GPA. Oakland City University proudly recognizes students with vocal or instrumental talent. Students are required to audition for an opportunity to qualify for these scholarships.  Students who wish to apply for Pep Band / Great Command scholarships should contact the appropriate OCU music staff member HERE.

Indiana CPA Society Education Foundation Scholarship

The Indiana CPA Society provides financial assistance to encourage accounting careers and promote financial activities for Indiana students. One such effort is the awarding of $50,000 in scholarships since 2002 to 57 students at independent campuses across the state through the Indiana CPA Educational Foundation.

Eligibility requirements:

• The student must be a resident of Indiana;
• attending an ICI member institution;
• pursuing accounting studies and classes that will lead to a major in accounting or its equivalent, with a career interest in the accounting and finance field;
• be a member of the Indiana CPA Society (student membership is free); and
• the student must be in good standing at his/her college/university and be entering their junior year of college after having completed four semesters of course work by the end of the current semester.

INCPA is headquartered in Indianapolis and serves as the statewide professional association for CPAs.

Indiana Wildlife Federation

The IWF Endowment awards a $1,000 scholarship in memory of Charles Holt, a lifelong member and champion of fish and wildlife resources. The recipient is invited to attend the Conservation Awards Banquet and Annual Meeting to be recognized as the scholarship recipient.

The Putnam County Community Foundation

Applications are now being accepted for the Alpha Gamma Delta Eta Alumnae Scholarship. To be eligible, students must be enrolled as a junior or senior for the 2017-2018 academic year at an accredited Indiana College or university. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for this award. The scholarship is directed toward applicants with intellectual and social commitment, scholastic ability, extracurricular achievements, and a career plan that shows motivation for the future.

Robert E. Martin Collegiate Scholarship Program

The Robert E. Martin collegiate scholarship program available to college students that are members of Indiana Members credit union. up to twenty-five (25) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually, representing a scholarship for each of lndiana Members credit unions twenty-five
